Inhumans


Inhumans are an offshoot of the human race, deliberately created by the Kree, who spliced their own DNA with that of early humans.

No two Inhumans have identical powers and there's no known way to predict what power an Inhuman will receive after they experience terrigenesis. Inhumans only receive their powers after they are exposed to the terrigen mist and go through terrigenesis. According to Lincoln, each Inhuman is given a power meant to fulfill some kind of evolutionary need and create equilibrium within the species. Thousands of years ago, an extraterrestrial race known as the Kree were fighting a long war against an unknown alien race. The Kree needed more soldiers thus groups of Kree began exploring under developed worlds and began experimenting on their inhabitants.

For the most part these experiments failed, but on Earth the Kree found human DNA to be more receptive. Kree Reapers would abduct unsuspecting and primitive humans and experiment on them. The Kree would combine their own DNA with human DNA in order to force rapid and variable mutations. The Kree referred to their test subjects as Inhumans. The Inhumans, however, rebelled against their creators and drove the Kree off Earth. The Inhumans that exist today are all descendants of the Kree's original test subjects.

Legend

Dr. Whitehall and Raina both mentioned a legend that told the origin of Inhumans from humanity's perspective. Raina's grandmother use to tell her this story when she was a child. Long ago, a star fell from Heaven and from that star emerged the "blue angels" who brought with them a gift for all mankind. The Diviner was meant to guide "the worthy" to the temple where they'd receive their gift.

Culture

Jiaying was the leader of a society of Inhumans that lived at Afterlife, a sanctuary for Inhumans she created with other elders. At Afterlife, Jiaying trained and evaluated each Inhuman before choosing which one of them would be allowed to experience terrigenesis. After going through terrigenesis, a Transitioner is chosen and they'll help the now powered Inhuman adjust to the physical changes brought on by terrigeneis and help them discover what their unique power is. Next, a Guide is selected who'll help the powered Inhuman learn to control their power.

Post-Outbreak

After a crate of terrigen crystals fell into the ocean the terrigen was mixed in with Earth's natural ecosystem and thereby began causing Inhumans all over the world to experience spontaneous terrigenesis. The A.T.C.U.'s solution to the problem was to put every inhuman that has gone through terrigenesis in a stasis pod, similar to putting them in a medically induced coma, until a method of turning them back into ordinary humans is discovered. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s solution to the problem was similar to Jiaying's as they want to teach Inhumans how to use their powers.

With the passage of the Sokovia Accords, all Inhumans are required by law to register themselves with the government. In "Uprising," the Watchdogs caused a series of blackouts in cities around the world. The blackouts were a distraction and while the cities were dark the Watchdogs hunted and killed Inhumans. S.H.I.E.L.D. was able to restore power to all the cities, but a total of 17 Inhumans were killed by the Watchdogs.

Primitives

Hive forced Dr. Radcliffe to create a pathogen, made from Kree blood, that would transform any human exposed to into what Radcliffe referred to as a "Primitive." Primitives possess peak-human strength and can only see in infrared. Primitives lack intelligence, but they do possess knowledge of skill they had when they were human. For example, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Hive turned into Primitives knew how to use guns and were aware of the layout of the base. Each Primitive is controlled by Hive, similar to how Hive controls other Inhumans, and will instinctively protect Hive if he's attacked. After Hive was destroyed, Radcliffe, Fitz, and Simmons began working on a way to turn the Primitives back into the humans they once were.

Langs are a family of unknown origin which in recent generations has married into the family of Margaret Isobel Thoreaux as well as raising a descendant of Ezra Small in the form of the youngest member of the family, Lana Lang.

  • Ezra Small : Was the ancestor of Henry Small and Lana Lang. He was the founder of Smallville and wrote many prophecies of the town's future. Countess Margaret Isobel Thoreaux was an infamous and royal witch of France who lived in the early 17th century, as well as the ancestress of Louise McCallum and Lana Lang.

  • Louise McCallum : Was the aunt of Laura and Nell, the great-aunt of Lana and a descendant of Countess Margaret Isobel Thoreaux. She had an affair with a man, called Joe, despite the fact that she was married with Dex McCallum.

  • Lewis Lang : Was the husband of Laura Lang and the legal father of Lana Lang. He met his future wife in high school. He was killed along with his wife in the 1989 meteor shower.

  • Laura Lang : Was the wife of Lewis Lang and mother of Lana Lang.

  • Henry Small : Is the biological father of Lana and a descendant of Ezra Small. Henry was married with Jennifer Small and they have two children together. He was originally unaware of Lana's existence and her true parentage.

  • Nell Potter : Is Laura's younger sister and Lana's aunt. She became Lana's guardian after her parents died. In 2002 she was engaged to Dean Winters and moved to Metropolis.

  • Lana Lang : Is the biological daughter of Henry Small and Laura Lang and the step-daughter of Lewis Lang. She is Clark Kent's first love interest as well as a super powered vigilante fighting to preserve life.

Sky Wall Disaster




Sky Wall Disaster is an incident that occurred 10 years ago in 2008 when Evolto attempted to raise Pandora's Tower by using his powers on the box. However due to Vernage's tampering with the bottles, he failed and the box caused the Sky Wall to spring pre-constructed from the ground, instead. The rising wall suspended several people helplessly in the air with an unspecified fate, and the entire country of Japan was split into three parts: Hokuto, Touto, and Seito. Everyone present at the event was noted by Director Gentoku Himuro to have suddenly changed their personalities to be much more aggressive.

Japanese Civil War

Japanese Civil War is a conflict that broke out in Japan of the World of Build ten years following the Sky Wall Disaster which split the once united island into three separate nations. Though ostensibly a three-way war between the nations of Touto, Hokuto, and Seito, it was more accurately a conflict between the pacifist Touto, supported by Kamen Rider Build, his allies, against the warmongering Namba Heavy Industries Ltd. and their benefactor Evolto, whom manipulated the nations of Hokuto and Seito into invading Touto while conspiring with their Deputy Prime Minister Gentoku Himuro to undermine his father, all in order to seize the Pandora Box and gather the 60 Fullbottles needed to open it.

The first phase of the war began when Hokuto, supported by Blood Stalk, launched an invasion of Touto following the supposed elimination of the terrorist organization Faust, which was secretly managed by Gentoku Himuro. Gentoku became Prime Minister in light of his father's ill health, only to be banished from the nation once his father was healed by Misora Isurugi, with the younger Himuro's true nature being exposed. Ultimately, the conflict between Touto and Hokuto was decided by a Proxy Battle in which Touto emerged victoriously.

The war continued, however, as Seito, having initially remained neutral while being secretly backed by Juzaburo Namba himself, quickly seized control of Hokuto, who had been sold out by Stalk, before launching their own invasion of Touto. Ultimately, Seito was represented by Gentoku Himuro as Kamen Rider Rogue in the deciding match of the 3-on-3 Proxy Battle against Touto, who was supported by Hokuto's Kamen Rider Grease. When Touto prevailed against Seito, Prime Minister Masakuni Mido, though devastated, intended to honor his promise to relinquish his claim on Hokuto, the Fullbottles, and the Pandora Box, only to be murdered by Blood Stalk, who applied his appearance to Namba, allowing the CEO to secretly take control of Seito personally and pour the full might of his corporation into an invasion of Touto.

    Thor : The Dark World

    Bor fought and defeated the Dark Elves eons ago and hid the Aether somewhere that no one should have been able to find. During a daring escape from Asgard, Bor's statue was destroyed by Thor while piloting a Dark Elf ship with Loki congratulating his adopted brother for "decapitating their grandfather.

    Abilities
    • Asgardian Physiology : As the king of Asgard, Bor was extremely powerful. Bor possessed various superhuman attributes common among the asgardians; such as strength, speed, agility, reflexes, stamina, durability and longevity. However, as the king of the asgardians, many of these attributes were significantly superior to those possessed by the majority of his race.
      • Superhuman Strength : Bor possessed superhuman strength surpassing that of most asgardians; allowing him to easily fight multiple Dark Elves at once.
      • Superhuman Stamina : Bor's musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human, and most other asgardians; allowing him to easily battle Dark Elves without tiring.
      • Superhuman Durability : Bor's body was considerably more resistant to physical injury than the body of a normal human or even most other asgardians.
      • Accelerated Healing Factor : Despite his body's resistance, Bor could be injured like any asgardian. However, his metabolism allowed him to heal much faster than that of a normal human.
      • Superhuman Longevity : Like all asgardians, Bor was extremely long-lived, as he ages far slower than normal humans.

    • Master Hand-To-Hand Combatant : Bor was a master hand-to-hand combatant; as he could easily fight multiple Dark Elves at once.

    Frost Giants

    Frost Giants are a monstrous, ancient race of titans from the icy world of Jotunheim that were ruled by King Laufey. They have an ancient blood feud with the Asgardians, who've stolen their supremacy on the Nine Realms.

    Thor

    In 965 A.D., the Frost Giants of Jotunheim attacked Earth armed with their brute strength and durability, their cryokinesis, and the Casket of Ancient Winters, but their invasion was thwarted by the Asgardians who protect the realms from any race or group who spark an interrealm conflict or threaten to do so. After an unknown period of time the war drove them back into the heart of Jotunheim. Odin defeated the Frost Giant King Laufey before stealing the Casket which was their greatest artifact and primary source of power, and adopting the malformed Loki, Laufey's son, who had been abandoned to die because of his small size. For centuries, Jotunheim was in a state of decay and hatred for Asgard grew

    Abilities
    • Physiology : Frost giants are a very durable, long lived race, comparable to Asgardians. They appear to be physically stronger and taller than average Asgardians. They wear little if any armor in contrast to Asgardians, partially due to having adapted as a race to not only survive but utilize and thrive in incredible other dimensional cold, though there are likely to be other factors for the general lack of armor. They also seem to be unaffected by Asgard's warmer climate. They are shown to be resistant to injury, being able to withstand human and Asgardian projectiles. However, they can be defeated in hand-to-hand combat with Asgardians. Their durability, strength and numbers could overwhelm many races mortal or otherwise. Their planet Jotunheim seems to be less dense than other planets, and the resulting lower gravity might be the reason the Jotuns are so tall. Other fauna native to the Realm such as the Frost Beast are also quite large.
    • Cryokinesis : Frost Giants have the ability to form ice from moisture around them, for example puddles on the ground by touching the said water source. The water traveles up their bodies and shapes into tools like blades which could come in many shapes and sizes, a sword like blade and a dagger have been observed, they can also create spiked throwing balls and spray shards of ice, or solid ice pillars that can knock an Asgardian down. The ice made by Frost Giants is obviously far harder and colder than normal ice, possibly stronger then steel alloys, as it can injure Asgardians while low and medium caliber human bullets bounce off of Asgardians. The ice is however not as tough as Asgardian metals or Uru, for one of Loki's thrown knives shattered a Frost Giants ice blade, and Mjolnir easily shattered the ice of Jotunheim.
    • Superhuman Density : Frost Giants' molecular structure is three times denser than that of Humans. This, possibly in addition to other factors, contributes to their super strength and weight.
    • Fighting Ability : While not exceedingly proficient in their fighting ability, seeming to prefer brute force to martial arts, they are shown to be more than a match for Asgardians in hand-to-hand combat and easily overpower humans, in fact it is unlikely a human could hurt a Frost Giant in any way unless wielding a weapon of high technology. A select few Frost Giants however, are trained in a fearsome fighting style that is second only to Odin's.
    • Longevity : Frost Giants are shown to have lives at least as long as those of Asgardians. Laufey was the king that led the Frost Giants in the war of 965 AD on Midgard, and he is still alive and king in the present day until Loki tricks and kills him.
    • Magic : They have the ability to learn and be proficient in magic, a form of energy manipulation and the basis of higher realm science and technology. One such individual is Loki.

    Nine Realms are worlds, nine distant planets, interconnected through the world tree, Yggdrasil. As of Thor: Ragnarok, following Asgard's destruction; only eight realms remain.

    Thor

    In 965 AD, the Frost Giants of Jotunheim began to advance and conquer the other Realms using the power of the Casket of Ancient Winters. They begin with Midgard, on the planet Earth which is the focal point of the nine realms and the easiest place to connect a stable wormhole in Midgard. Using a wormhole to travel there they were confronted by the Asgardians who were there to battle them and stop their progress. After an unknown length of time the Jotun were finally driven back to Jotunheim, then the Casket and an infant Frost Giant were taken back to Asgard and a truce is established with the Jotuns.

    Thor : The Dark World

    Five thousand years ago, in the time of the Convergence, the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim tried to plunge the universe back to darkness as it was before creation. They were stopped by the armies of Asgard and they were all assumed to be killed off. However, when thousands of years later (present day) a ship full of escapees lead by Malekith were reawakened after the Aether was uncovered, they traveled to Asgard to retrieve it. After the destruction of the Bifrost, enemies of Asgard such as Marauders, Frost Giants, Trolls, and Badoon have taken advantage and wreaked havoc across the Nine Realms. After the Bifrost is repaired, the armies of Asgard were sent to reestablish order.between worlds and has acquired the Aether.

    Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

    After the battle in Greenwich, Coulson's team is called to clean up the area. An Asgardian artifact is found in a Norwegian forest and revealed to be the Berserker Staff . In the 17th century, Asgardians were recruited to join the army to go to Midgard. A stone mason, tired with his life and curious to explore the Realms, signed up. After the battle was over and the Asgardians called back, the stone mason stayed behind on Earth with the Staff. He broke it in three pieces and hid them across Europe.

    Jotunheim

    Jotunheim
    Publication Information Jotunheim is one of the Nine Realms of Yggdrasil and the homeworld of the Giants, or Jotuns; Frost Giants and Rock Giants. The word means "home of the giants" in Old Norse. It is based on the mythical realm of the same name of Norse mythology. Jotunheim is a dark, icy world in a distant part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jotunheim's ruler was Laufey before his murder by Loki .

    Thor

    In Thor, Jotunheim is first seen during the first war with Asgard, where it is seen devastated by the war and surrenders to the Asgardian king Odin. Over a millenium later, in the twenty first century, Jotunheim is still devastated by the war. Thor , Loki , Sif and the Warriors Three trespass Jotunheim to question Laufey as to how three Jotunns entered Asgard in a failed attempt to steal the Casket of Ancient Winters. Laufey insists that an Asgardian granted his soldiers access into Asgard. When Thor fights with the inhabitants of Jotunheim, Laufey threatens a declaration of war, resulting in Thor's banishment from Asgard.
